- Quality control of Chinese herbal medicine
Chinese herbal medicine formulas usually consist of a combination of several herbs, which undergo a specific processing and extraction procedure. Chinese medicine theory suggests that the many compounds present in such herbal formula can have synergistic effects, reduce side effects and have a multi-target and multidimensional pharmacological effect on the body.

Chinese medicine diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis is significantly different from the Western diagnosis. A questionnaire was designed to collect symptoms of arthritis patients that are used in Chinese medicine. A set of 30 patients has filled in the questionnaire.
